How we Delivered a Camera from Pune to Goa

Last week got an order for a camera in Goa! They were going for a family trip to Kerala and were looking for a DSLR camera on rent. Firstly, we felt extremely proud about this as we have started to get reference customers!

We talked to her on the phone and she was very happy with the portal. She couldn?t resist from booking the camera for a week. Until this point, we did not realise the order was in Goa. We are not operational in Goa at this point.

So the standard answer would be: We can not do this delivery, we will do a refund! But we din?t choose that. We decided to ship the camera from Pune to Goa. Trust me it was not easy!

All the courier and shipping companies refused to carry the batteries in the shipment for security reasons. Obviously, there was no point in sending the camera without the batteries. A couple of them actually said yes, picked up the camera and then returned it back the next day. All this while, we were loosing time. We had like 2 days left for the delivery and that was enough. An idea struck me. Let?s try car pooling for the camera. So we start looking for rides from Pune to Goa on BlaBlaCar, the carpooling hailing app. Well, even that was not easy.

I booked one ride, called the person. When I told him my story, he refused straightaway. His answer was - I don?t think I am comfortable to carry your camera. We tried one more booking . This guy was just the kind we wanted at that point! He was cool and was ready to help us in a heartbeat.

The camera reached Goa! It was still 18KMS away from the customer. Yes, it was touch and go as the customer had a train to catch in the evening and the camera reached in the morning, so there was time! Some time noon, the customer pings me saying she got the camera. We are extremely happy to see the smile on our customers faces. We don?t want anyone to miss out on capturing the moments of their lives.
